An introduction to OpenSCAD, the Coder's Way to do Computer Aided Design. We will touch lightly on why it's cool, how to install it, and workflow, then go into more depth on some interesting features of the OpenSCAD language.
OpenSCAD lets you do CAD with minimal use of your mouse. Design files are pure program text, so you can do things with it that are difficult or impossible in other CAD systems. Changing your designs or parameterizing them is also very simple.
I own a 3D printer and I am not afraid to use it. I work in FreeCAD and OpenSCAD. I have stuff at on thingiverse ( https://www.thingiverse.com/cshapiro/designs ) and a personal website ( https://tomshiro.org )
