06-07, 10:00–10:50 (EST5EDT), System76 (BallroomA)
A high-intensity tour of (at least) 100 tips for the command-line, bash, Unix and GNU/Linux itself. Hear something useful every 30 seconds! If 30 seconds is enough for you to internalize everything, this talk is guaranteed to make you a sysadmin within the 50-minute timeslot.
The goal of this talk is to pique the interest of people afraid of the command line and queue in longtime veteran Linux users to old truths and maybe new techniques. It will be an avalanche of info, but organized into several categories:
1. Absolute basics.
2. Core utilities.
3. Piping.
4. System interaction.
5. Playing with text.
More to be determined. If I am hoping to increase the number of tips to 200, thus making them one every fifteen seconds, but no commitment on that.
